Project title: Enhancing Housing, Land and Property Rights for the people affected by Violent conflict between the periods 2013 – 2018 in South Sudan.

Between the periods March 2019- November 2019 GREDA implemented “Housing, Land and property Rights Project that provided legal aid support and also supported restitution of housing, land and property rights to 5550 people in Jonglei State. The beneficiaries of this project were people whose houses, land and properties were taken over by force during the violent political crises between President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar. The political crisis between the two leaders had been very devastating as a result the lives of the victims whose houses, land and properties were taken over by force had been protected and saved in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Protection of civilian site in Bor in Jongolei State. This project was successfully implemented as a result the houses, land and properties of the victims taken over by force were returned to the rightful owners in Bor South County in Jongolei State. The project was funded by South Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SSHF) through UNDP – Juba.

We offer free legal counseling, support vulnerable people to litigate against illegal occupation of houses, land and properties; we also provide Individual protection assistance, support community Dispute Resolution Committees and carry out awareness.
