Project title: Saving the lives of Poorest Vulnerable IDPs through humanitarian relief food.

In 2017 the conflict between President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar intensified and occupied large parts of Western Equatoria State. On January 2017 the rebel under Dr. Riek Machar attacked and captured Kediba the Head Quarter of Mundri East County and displaced nearly 25,000 people to Mundri West County that were settled in Church compound. GREDA received funding from Al Khair Foundation UK and purchased sorghum, beans and oil from Uganda and delivered/distributed to the internal displaced persons in Mundri West County. The direct beneficiaries i.e.  (IDPs) that benefited from the food brought from Uganda were 1071 males and 4529 females. These humanitarian relief food assistances saved the lives of the poorest vulnerable widows, orphans, and pregnant/lactating mothers, children under the ages of 5 years, old aged persons and persons with disabilities that have gone for several weeks without eating cooked food.
